Virtual Professional DevelopmentFour County School-Based services will be hosting a half-day of virtual training and seminars for Educators. REGISTER HERE
Training will feature 3 different segments:
Presented utilizing the GoToMeeting platform, the ACEs Indiana Coalition will provide training. This organization is dedicated to growing awareness on Adverse Childhood Experiences and building self healing communities. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events in a child's life that can have negative and lasting effects on a person's physical, mental and emotional health. In addition, self healing communities focus on the implementation of trauma-informed interventions, local policy improvements and paradigm shifts in how we assist children and families. Through self healing communities and appropriate interventions we can help individuals heal from Adverse Childhood Experiences.
Common Diagnoses Seen in the Classroom
This portion of the seminar will help Educators identify several common diagnoses that students experience in the classroom, signs of those diagnoses, as well as strategies to help manage them in the classroom.
Universal Screening Training
Jumping back into a live demonstration using the GoToMeeting platform, a Four County Associate will provide a training on a universal screening tool that can be used by any school corporation. This will be a How-To and help educators understand when it is appropriate to refer to a mental health provider.
