© Get S-M-A-R-T JrIn today’s world of advanced technology, social media and overbooked calendars, teens are lacking programs that teach them skills to deal with life. They often have straight A’s but leave highschool without a clue about how to cope with a devastating breakup or other family trauma. It makes perfect sense that when we lack skills and understanding about the importance of mental health care, we may look for quick fixes that temporarily take us away from real life. Perhaps if we – educators, parents, society – get Smart - and model for them that self-care is mandatory, we’d have less addiciton! © Get S-M-A-R-T Jr. is a revolutionary therapeutic education program for adolescents. Students will learn more about themselves, the importance of self-care, the power of the peer group and drug and alcohol risks. Through exercises geared at experiential learning they will develop coping skills to better understand triggers, stressors and emotions.
Four County will be offering this program virtually through the ZOOM meeting platform. This clinical program will span over three weeks meeting every Wednesday.
