Jacob Van Horn a senior at Pioneer High School in Royal Center, IN chose a 5K run/walk to promote suicide prevention and donate proceeds from the event to the Cass County Suicide Prevention Task Force.
Community Activities - Zero Suicide
Pictured at the right is a picture of Jacob presenting Donna Henry, Senior Vice President of Clinical and Residential Services with a check from the proceeds of the 5K run/walk.
In Jacob's own words - " I chose a 5K run/walk to promote suicide prevention as my senior project because some members have suffered from depression and I realize that there needs to be more awareness for this type of problem. Along with the 5K, I wrote a research paper on why suicide prevention should be a larger part in our school system. This project taught me that depression is a serious disease and suicide prevention needs to become more of a priority in our society. I was very proud to be able to donate the money raised to Cass County Suicide Prevention Task Force.
